Enterprise dinghy, sail no. 20385 ‘Catspaw’ Built in 1981 by John Lufkin, with a current Class Measurement Certificate.
Advancing age and a broken wrist have finally convinced me to sell my much loved and carefully maintained Enterprise dinghy. I’ve owned the boat for the last 7 years, it has been raced most weekends during the summer at Winsford Flash Sailing Club, and stored under cover every winter.
The boat is absolutely complete and in great condition, with selection of sails, boat covers, combi trailer and is ready to go. Looks very smart with light grey hull and varnished decks, but a couple of years since re-varnished so there is the odd place that could do with touching up for the 2020 season (see photo for example).
It comes complete with a modern galvanised Combi trailer / trolley by Trident
It was re- painted and varnished throughout (decks and interior) using Epifanes varnish at the start of the 2018 season, with many fittings renewed or replaced, including:
- New shrouds and forestay
- All sheets, control lines and halyards
- Toe straps
- Tiller extension
- Rear Crewsaver buoyancy bags
The boat is fitted for racing, with high quality fittings throughout and control lines led aft.
- Full specification includes:
- Proctor mast and boom
- Laminated centreboard and rudder with Cee Vee rudder stock and tiller extension
- Twin bailers and Transom Flaps
- Set up for centre mainsheet with Harken ratchet block (could easily be converted to rear mainsheet) and Harken jib cleats
Sails include:
- Decent set of Speed Sails for club racing
- Spare Speed Sails mainsail (bit tired but OK)
- Set of Speed Sails with cut down mainsail for strong winds (or light crews)
Includes two covers, both high quality breathable fabric
- Flat cover for towing or storage, couple of years old, little used and in excellent condition
- Boom-up cover, about 7 years old, faded but very strong and serviceable
It’s a good looking, sound boat, absolutely complete and ready to race.
